About all this

About me, Margaret Nagel: I’m a native and long-time resident of Western New York, and formerly taught there. I received degrees in English and education from the State University of New York at Fredonia. I have three grown children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. I presently live in Evanston, Illinois. This book took shape and gained its final form partly in Evanston and partly in Three Mile Bay, New York, where I spend my summers.

About my blog: I’m new to blogging. I’m also new to illustrating and self-publishing a book, new to failing eyesight, and new to what’s next. So I imagine I’ll start out a little slow on the blogging thing, and get into it as I go.

About Neverwert Press: Neverwert Press is, so far, a one-person and one-book operation. Its name comes from the opening lines of “To a Skylark,” by the poet Shelley (“Hail to thee, blithe spirit!/Bird thou never wert—”). I chose it for its combination of euphony, oddness, and what I felt at the time was its appropriateness to the unlikely situation of my writing a book and forming a press to publish it.

About thanks due: I thank Bonnie Mutchler of Bonnie Mutchler Covers for her endless patience, skillful cover design, and good humor; Charlie Seper of eBookPioneers for his endless patience, perfect book conversion and formatting, and good humor; and Mary Kim, for her endless patience, stellar editing  and website creation – and good humor!
